Annual Leave (AL): Must be requested and approved in advance. Cannot leave the unit short-staffed.
Sick Leave (SL): Can be used same day. No advance approval required. May also be used for family care.
LWOP (Leave Without Pay): Must be approved by supervisor. Used only when AL and SL balances are exhausted.
Sunday coverage: At least 2 distribution clerks must work on Sunday. Leave cannot be approved if it drops below 2.
Monday coverage: At least 3 distribution clerks must work on Monday. Leave cannot be approved if it drops below 3.
Duties during leave: Clerks on leave are excluded from FLATS, MOVE/CUT, and LUNCH assignments for those days.
Call Out: Counts as an unscheduled absence. Days off and duties are recorded in history and accounted for in the next Auto-Rotate.
Auto-Rotate adjusts: After leave or call out, the rotation automatically accounts for absences to keep assignments fair over time.
